"The ambience and placements were better at NSIT" -Ashit Arora

Q) What were the options available to you at these ranks?

“I was getting Mechanical Engineering in BITS Pilani. I would have got anything in DCE, NSIT and IP University through my CEE and CET rank. I did not apply for central counseling through AIEEE. “

Q) What brought you to NSIT then?

“I was left to choose between DCE, NSIT and BITS Pilani. Location forms an important basis when you are selecting a college and Delhi was all ends ahead of Pilani. The amount of exposure that one gets in Delhi is incomparable. Both NSIT and DCE had a good reputation and were at the same level as BITS is.  But the ambience and placements were better at NSIT – my mentors told me and now I realize that they were absolutely correct.”

Q) How have these 4 years been in NSIT?

“At NSIT, I made friends with people of all kinds. The IQ level here is acute. The seniors here were very supportive. It was through them that I worked for a lot of innovative ventures and societies. I was the creative director in Adrageous – The advertisement and marketing society at our time. I was also involved as a project leader in Radio NSIT and also served as the vice president of Entrepreneurship and Development Cell. “

"NSIT has world-class faculty in Electronics department" - Pallav Raj

Q1) What were the colleges available at this rank?

“ I was always passionate about Electronics and I was getting ECE in NSIT, DTU and BITS Hyderabad. In BITS Pilani, I would have either got Mechanical or Electrical”

Q2) What made NSIT favorable then?

“Well, Placement statistics of NSIT were better than DTU. BITS Hyderabad had not seen its first batch placed and I wanted to play safe and go with a recognized college instead of a newer one. NSIT has world-class faculty in Electronics department . We are all aware of Raj Senani sir being chosen as the Second Laureate of the 25th Khwarizmi International Award recently.”

Q3) Are you happy with your choice then?

“I couldn't have been happier. The campus is fabulous and the atmosphere is calmin terms of academics. I can follow my co-curricular activities without anyfear that it might affect my academics. The Delhi factor is another advantage. Also, being a part of Delhi University gives a bossy feeling. The culture is diverse and the crowd is extremely smart. ”

“I would have got Environmental Engineering in ISM Dhanbad. I had IISER Mohali in my hand too through my JEE rank and National Institute Of Science And Research through NEST. Through BITS, I would have got enrolled in a 5 year M.Sc course in BITS Goa.

Q2) So why did you chose NSIT?

“My mentors strongly recommended NSIT above all these choices. NSIT is one of the best technical college in the country. Moreover, the Delhi factor definitely makes a lot of difference. One gets the best of exposure, facilities and coachings – in case one is preparing for exams like CAT, GRE, GMAT and TOEFL.  NSIT has a good reputation interms of providing students with the best platform to ride one’s dream horse”

Q3) After a year in NSIT, do you think that your decision was right?

“Absolutely! NSIT, despite good education, provides a student with ample time to get involved in co-curricular activities. There is always some orthe other activity going on in the college. Unlike other colleges, the students take charge of everything – the fests and all major and minor activities which help in student’s all round development. Moreover, the competition is really good in each realm. Being a part of Delhi University’s rich diversity does help”
